Bangladeshi mill books bulk scrap cargo from the U.S.

A leading Bangladeshi steel mill has booked 32,000 t bulk U.S. origin scrap mix (shredded plus HMS) for Jul’21 shipment. The deal was heard to be concluded at around $530-535/t, CFR Chittagong, for the shredded material, however, few sources highlighted price level of $525/t CFR for this deal, SteelMint confirmed. Prices remain stable in recent bookings vis-a-vis last week. Bangladesh’s bulk scrap imports were recorded at 0.97 mn t in Jan-May’21.
