Bangladesh: Thermal coal imports rise by 34% m-o-m in Jul’24

Bangladesh’s thermal coal import volumes rose significantly by 34% m-o-m to 1.05 mnt in Jul’24 compared to 0.79 mnt in Jun’24, as per Customs data.
Indonesia was the only exporter at 1.05 mnt (up 34% m-o-m) in Jul as against 0.79 mnt in Jun. No imports were recorded from South Africa and Australia in Jul.
Moreover, thermal coal imports increased 48% y-o-y in Jul’24 compared to 0.71 mnt in Jul’23.
