Bangladesh: Steel mills books 12,000 t of bulk scrap cargo from Australia

Around 12,000 t of Australia-origin bulk scrap cargo comprising plate and structural materials was booked recently for Mar’22 shipment.
The booking price was heard at $565/t CFR Chittagong.
Sources mentioned that a couple of extra bulk scrap bookings from the EU and US have been concluded, although SteelMint is yet to receive confirmation.
Bangladesh imported 2.43 mnt of bulk scrap cargoes in CY’21 compared to 2.35 mnt in CY’20.
