Increasing steel capacities in Bangladesh are expected to push country’s steel capacity from 3 MnT in 2016 to 4.5-5 MnT in 2018.
According to customs data maintained with SteelMint, Bangladesh exported 13,800 MT mill scale in Bangladesh FY16 (i.e Jul’15-Jun’16).
Country’s bulk mill scale export have increased in FY17. So far in Bangladesh FY17 (till Apr’17) bulk mill scale exports summed up to 91,000 MT. Majority of the cargo was shipped to Japan and China. Thus exports have jumped nearly seven times on yearly premises.
After witnessing no bulk mill scale export shipments since beginning of 2017, the month of Apr’17 observed a single mill scale export vessel from Bangladesh.
20,000 MT mill scale was exported from Bangladesh to China vessel name ‘Ammar’ in Apr’17.
