Australian premium low-volatile (PLV) hard coking coal prices surged by $12/t to $312/t FoB on 9 Sept’21 on sustained strong demand in the Asian markets, excluding China, amidst limited availability of Oct-Nov’21 laycan spot cargoes. However, some buyers have chosen to withdraw from the spot market as prices have increased sharply.
