World’s leading Coking & Non-coking Coal exporter Newcastle Port Corporation (NPC) exported around 13.2 MnT of Coal in Jan’14. Shipment decline by 12.3% in January against December and rose by 4.3% compare to Jan’13.
NPC has shipped total around 148 MnT of Coal to the different part of the world in 2013. NPC’s Coal export had grown from 131.3 MnT to 12.4% Y-o-Y in 2012.
Port’s Coal shipment has been increased by 15.3% during week ended on 3 Feb, 2014.

• W-o-W shipment rose by 15.3% to 3.5 MnT
• Port targets to ship 11.3 MnT of Coal in Feb’14
• Average ship waiting time is 3.43 days
For the current month (Feb, 2014) port has forecasted to ship around 11.3 MnT of Coal.
On the basis of current situation, Port has reported that during the week ended on 3 Feb, 2014 total 34 vessels entered in the port for loading with an average waiting time of 3.43 days. Whereas, just preceding week 36 vessels entered at port with average waiting time of 1.52 days.
At the end of the week, 8 vessels had loaded Coal at port, 4 vessels were waiting to load and 33 vessels were expected to reach at port.
