Australia is the world’s largest Iron ore exporter. According to the vessel line up data maintained with SteelMint, Australia’s iron ore export has decreased by 5% M-o-M to 71.43 MnT in Oct 17 compared to 74.80 MnT in Sep’17.
Country-wise Australia iron ore Export For Oct’17:
China recoded highest imports from Australia in Oct’17 with 84% share. However it showed a decline of 5% M-o-M to 59.88 MnT in Oct’17 as compared to Sept’17 which stood at 62.9 MnT. Japan stood the second highest importer of Australian iron ore with 8.4% share in Oct’17, up 5% M-o-M to 5.99 MnT as against 5.72 MnT in Sep’17, followed by Korea (4.35 MnT) and Taiwan(0.49 MnT).

Headland was largest iron ore exporting port from Australia with 56% share .It was down 7% M-o-M to 40.28 MnT in Oct’17 against 43.38 MnT iron ore in Sep’17. Followed by Walcott with 24% share of iron ore export, up 2% M-o-M to 16.97 MnT in Oct’17 compared to 16.59 MnT in Sep’17.
