Australia: BHP’s thermal coal output falls 13%, q-o-q, in Jan-Mar’22

Amid heavy rainfall and labour shortage in New South Wales since the beginning of this year, BHP Group’s thermal coal production registered a 13% q-o-q decline at 2.58 mnt during Jan-Mar’22. During the first nine months of the fiscal year (Jul’21-Mar’22) BHP’s thermal coal production stood at 9.78 mnt. For the ongoing fiscal ending in June, the miner has a production target of 13-15 mnt.
