Australia: Anglo American’s coking coal production falls sharply, q-o-q, in Q1CY’22

Multinational miner Anglo American’s met coal production fell by 49% in Q1 2022 compared to the last quarter of 2021. While operations at the Grosvenor and Aquila mines restarted in mid-Feb, overall production fell due to delayed longwall operations at the Moranbah mine and production stoppage at the Grasstree mine. The miner has lowered its coking coal production guidance to 17-19 mnt, down from 20-22 mnt for 2022.
