Anthracite coal is finding almost no takers in India and the market outlook remains bleak.
There has been no change in the import offers. In fact, buyers in the country will be least bothered by any fluctuation in import offers, given the sluggish market in the country.
According to to a reputed importer, import offers from Russia have remained at around $96/MT CFR India.

Availability of cheaper alternate fuels, like Pet Coke and other forms of coal has restricted imports of the high-priced Anthracite coal among the country’s buyers.
IMPORTS
During the current month, no import has landed upto the 16th of May’16, according to SteelMint Research.
In Apr’16, a meager quantity of 71,000 MT was imported into the country against 100,250MT in Apr’15, data available with SteelMint Research shows.
