Sponge iron prices in Rourkela moved up by Rs 500/MT as some
demand was seen from mandis' like Ghaziabad & Bhiwadi in Northern India
According to market players, “There is no seller for sponge
iron below Rs 21,400-500/MT. However, buyers show interest at Rs 21,000/MT. Fall
in imports of scrap may be one of the reason behind some improvement in demand
for sponge iron from mandis' in North”
