Indian pellet manufacturers kept prices unchanged this week.Demand has been good from sponge manufacturers on easy availability of pellets and better quality reported market traders.
“Iron ore miners like Rungta, Essel and KJS Ahluwalia in Odisha , where as NMDC in Chattisgarh and Karnataka has raised its iron ore lumps prices by Rs 200-400/t this week.
Hence sponge manufacturers are willing to buy pellets from us. Our pellet prices are hovering around 9,700/t for 63% Fe.” said a pellet manufacturer based in Barbil (Odisha).
Pellets at Bellary being offered in the range of Rs 8,200-8,700/t for 62/63 % Fe pellets. Where as pellets at Raipur is heard to be traded at Rs 10,600/t.
Another large manufacturer at Tatanagar kept its prices unchanged at Rs 9,700/t (Ex Plant.)
Looking at high iron ore prices, it is unlikely that Indian pellet prices will come down in near term.
