- High freight costs continue to challenge raw material availability
India’s ferro titanium prices remained stable at INR 370,000/t ($3,903/t) exw-India, supported by balanced supply and demand. However, elevated freight costs continue to create challenges in raw material availability, with some market participants expecting these constraints to persist in the coming weeks.
India’s stainless steel market sentiment remained subdued and mixed, with festive-season disruptions, liquidity constraints and cautious procurement limiting trading activity. Flat-product demand remained relatively stable ahead of Diwali, although buyers continued to purchase mainly for immediate requirements. While 304-grade products held steady, 316-grade HR coil prices softened amid limited buying interest. Weaker downstream demand, particularly in the long-products segment, continued to weigh on market momentum.
China’s ferro titanium market remained stable and subdued, with steady raw material availability and production costs keeping prices largely unchanged. Downstream buyers continued to purchase on an order basis, focusing on immediate requirements rather than restocking. Suppliers remained reluctant to offer discounts, supported by existing orders and cost considerations, while limited changes in supply and demand kept the market rangebound.
Outlook
India’s ferro titanium prices are expected to remain broadly stable in the coming week. Persistent raw material availability challenges may provide some support, while balanced supply and demand are likely to keep prices rangebound.
