Indian Anthracite Coal Market Sees Sluggish Demand, Stable Import Offers

The Anthracite Coal market in India has remained sluggish, with buyers preferring other forms of coal.

Import offers also have remained unmoved at the rates prevailed the week last. The latest import offer for Anthracite Coal is assessed at around USD 110/MT CFR India.

In a international round-up, 2 MnT of Anthracite Coal was imported into China in Dec’16, according to the data released by the Commerce Department of that country. In Nov’16, the imports into that country was marginally higher at 2.2 MnT.

In China, demand for Anthracite Coal is driven by the usage in the fertilizer industry.
