India: Domestic coal prices up w-o-w despite dull demand

Domestic coal prices in India increased this week despite sluggish market sentiments. BigMint assessed 5000 GCV at INR 5,000/t and 4500 GCV at INR 4,400/t exw-Bilaspur – both rising by INR 150/t w-o-w. The hike comes even as overall demand remains weak and trades limited. SECL has reduced its e-auction frequency due to monsoon-related mining disruptions, contributing to tight spot availability and supporting prices.
