In the near future, there are fewer chances of Pellets manufacturers to offer Pellets at low prices as it has reached the minimum level and is unviable to most of the manufacturers.
“Current demand of Pellets is weak due to power crisis in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and other locations across the country.
As steel demand experiences a lull in monsoon season, the movement of finished products is slow straining the demand of Sponge Iron and Iron Ore Pellets. However, Pellets buying is expected to be good in a month’s time”, said Mr Rahul Mittal, Managing Director at Janki Corp Limited (JCL), Bellary, Karnataka.
“In the long run, we expect India to be an overall Pellet exporting country. Instead of exporting Iron Ore fines, some value addition will be done.
At present, Iron Ore fines supply is less and its shortage might continue in the years to come with limited supply and disturbance in mining scenario”, he further added.
