Indian secondary structure manufacturers based in east (Durgapur) and west (Ahmedabad) regions have declined prices sharply by INR 850-900/MT W-o-W for angle, channel and beam. Persistent fall in raw material (billet) offers and prolong dwindling demand have led to sharp fall in structure offers.
In-line, light and heavy channel and beam prices in Ghaziabad have dipped by INR 400/MT. Beam of size 200*100 in Ghaziabad is being offered at INR 26,800/MT.
However, in current scenario, billet prices have started to gain some stability, which in turn may also impact structure market in near term.
In addition, few Raipur based rolling mill operators said that buying for light structure has improved sharply this week from northern market including Maharashtra due to cheaper rates, which has cleared the inventory levels.
Light structure angle (40*40) offers in Mumbai are assessed at INR 25,700/MT, with an uptick of INR 100/MT.
On the flip side, south India structure market has remained stable in a week’s time.
