Coal exports from Australia rose in the month of December
with exports reaching to 9.86 million tons increased by 26.2% on M-o-M basis,
14% of the exports were coking coals.
Looking back in the previous year (2012), coking coal
exports were at 105.9 million tons with an increase of 8.25% on Y-o- basis
with major buyers from Japan and China. Japan being the leading buyer with total
of 52.6% of shipments, whereas china imported 19% of shipments.
