Turkish Billet exports reduce by 49.1% m-o-m in November 12 

Billet exports from Turkey slowed down by 49.1% to 1,78,515 metric tons (mt) in Nov 12 in comparison to Oct in the same year and by 7% compared to Nov 11.

In Nov 12, Egypt imported 73,623 mt, up by 145% as compared to Nov 11 and 73,223 mt was imported by Iran, an increase of 43.2% y-o-y. Turkey sold 30,552 mt to Peru with no material exported in Nov 11.

The country earned $101.5 million from exports in Nov 12, drop of 50.6% as compared to October 2012 and low by 24.6% compared to Nov 11.    

In Oct 12, Turkey exported 350,797 mt of Billet, thrice of that in the same month of 2011.

From January to November 2012, Turkey exported 2.8 million metric tons of Billet, a rise of 31.8% as compared to the same period of 2011.

Exports was made in large quantities as 1.27 mmt was exported to Saudi Arabia which doubled on y-o-y basis and that to Iran was three times (y-o-y basis) to 6,75,000 mt.
