- Indonesia’s Tsingshan Steel has increased stainless steel hot-rolled coils (HRCs) prices by $30-60/t for Taiwan.
- Stainless steel scrap prices in Taiwan have recently surpassed NT$50,000/t. To make finished products, Tsingshan Steel’s materials are still considerably less expensive than scrap.
- Due to low cost and great efficiency, HRCs are preferred by stainless steel manufacturers over scrap.
