Chennai’s leading steel manufacturer, Sumangala Steel Pvt Ltd, is going to install modern scrap shredder and thermo mechanical treatment (TMT) finishing infrastructure to make blue steel in Puducherry. It will start functioning on December 2023. Moreover, it will be Puducherry’s first scrap shredder facility and may import it either from the US or China.
