China: Shipbuilding orders fall sharply by 40% y-o-y in Jan-Sept’22

China’s shipbuilding orders dropped 40.1% y-o-y to 32.45 million deadweight tonnes (dwt) in Jan-Sep’22, as per China Shipbuilding Industry Association data.
Completed orders were 27.8 million dwt, a decrease of 8.4% y-o-y.
Orders in hand in end-Sep were 102.56 million dwt, a y-o-y increase of 11%.
Completed ship export orders were 23.52 million dwt, a decrease of 17% y-o-y.
