Barbil based Pellet makers have reduced prices from INR 7,500/MT to INR 7,200/MT (as per loaded into wagons).
Arya Iron & Steel has further reduced its Pellet prices by INR 300/MT. Following this majority of Pellet makers in eastern India have reduced their offers. Pellet prices in Durgapur & Jharsuguda have also fallen by upto INR 400/MT.
Odisha based Serajuddin Mines has also started supplying Iron ore in the domestic market. With allocation of Iron ore to Odisha based units and resumption of Iron ore supply from Serajuddin Mines will lessen the consistent scarcity of Iron ore in the domestic market.
Sources mentioned that with increasing availability of Iron ore fines and low buying interest, Pellet makers might be compelled to pull down prices further. Pellet prices in southern India have resisted correction as market participants mentioned that demand has improved marginally this week.
