India: Serajuddin Mines resumes Iron Ore Sales after 3-month

Serajuddin Mines has resumed Iron ore sales from its Odisha mines after a period of 3 months. Bookings were closed after their extended Environment Clearance (15.15 MnT from 4.5 MnT) was held back.

Serajuddin prices are comparatively lower than other mines’ offers. For instance, Rungta Mines is offering Fe 63% fines at INR 3,900-4,000/MT. Whereas, Serajuddin is offering the same grade at INR 3,350/MT.

Serajuddin is the one of the largest merchant miner in Odisha, which has an original EC of 4.5 MnT. Company was granted an extended EC upto 15.15 MnT in December, 2013.

Iron ore prices in Odisha have gone up sharply in Jun’14 after the Supreme Court ordered to stop all those mines running under second and subsequent deemed renewal. Odisha contributes over 50% of India’s total Iron ore production.
