Japan: Steel billet exports rise over 35%, m-o-m, in Jun’22

Japan’s steel billet exports rose by 38% m-o-m to 0.35 mnt in Jun’22 from 0.26 mnt in May’22, as per data recently released by customs.
South Korea was the largest importer with 0.14 mnt followed by Taiwan and Thailand with 0.12 mnt and 0.05 mnt respectively.
However, export volumes fell by 11% y-o-y to 1.50 mnt in Jan-Jun’22 as against 1.69 mnt in the year-ago period.
