AM/NS India’s crude steel production falls nearly 10%, y-o-y, in Q2CY’22

ArcelorMittal/Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has reported crude steel production at 1.67 million tonnes (mnt) in Q2CY’22, down 8.9% y-o-y against 1.83 mnt in the same period last year. Output fell 3.5% q-o-q as against 1.73 mnt in Q1CY’22. Production volumes were impacted on account of maintenance. The company plans to debottleneck existing operations (steel shop and rolling facility) to achieve 8.8 mnt capacity by the end of 2023.
