Bulk hot-rolled coil (HRC) shipments into Pakistan rose to 55,571 t in May’22 contrasted against 22,549 t in Apr. The entire volume was booked from Japan. On the other hand, HRC imports dropped 55% y-o-y from 86,539 t in May’21. Volumes picked up after two months of consistent decline, while political instability and concerns over declining global prices continue to weigh on buying interest.
