Coal India Ltd (CIL) has decided to slash coal supply to the non-power sector to 250,000 t/day in view of elevated power demand and the need to build adequate inventory before monsoon. The miner has set a target for individual subsidiaries and asked them to comply with the directives. Dispatches to the non-power sector had fallen to 260,000 t/day in Apr’22 and supplies would remain lower from last year’s levels.
