Iran’s steel production in the just-concluded Persian Year (21 March 2021-20 March 2022) fell compared to the previous year, according to the latest data released by the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA). The country produced 27.90 million tonnes (mnt) of semi-finished steel in the period under review, down 8% y-o-y. Billets and blooms accounted for 16.66 mnt of the total semi-finished output, a significant y-o-y fall of 11%, while slabs production was down marginally by 2% y-o-y to 11.24 mnt.
