Bhavnagar shipbreaking HMS scrap prices open at Rs 23600/t. Prices are up by Rs 100/t from previous close, as the north India semifinish demand improves. Rolling plate cutting scrap offers are also up by Rs 200-300/t as scrap of 4 ANI plate trading at Rs 24,000/t, 6 ANI at Rs 25,100/t and 12 ANI at Rs 26700/t.
Prices are up in the range of Rs 200-300/t from previous close for ship breaking scrap due to domestic scrap shortage and improved plate demand in the region, said a trader based in Alang.
Mumabi HMS (80:20) scrap offers stands stable at Rs 22700/t (Basic prices), Chennai at Rs 23500/t (Basic Prices). Imported HMS scrap offer from Dubai region are quoting at $400-405 CFR Mumbai with Qty. 18,800 tonnes shipped in April’13 till date as buying remain intact.
