The government of Andhra Pradesh, for the first time, has allotted 5,342 hectares of land for mining to RINL's Vizag Steel Plant, which has deposits of low grade iron ore.
RINL has sought the area for setting up an 1 MnT integrated steel plant which is to cost Rs 6,000 crore and for beneficiation unit as well, at Bayyaram Mandal.
In Gudur mandal of Warangal district and Bayyaram Mandal of Khammam district each, 2,500 hectares of land has been allotted.
In Bheemadevarapalli of Karimnagar district, 342 hectares of land has been allotted.
