Billet production of induction furnaces located at OP Jindal Industrial Park in Punjipathra, Raigarh (central India) got affected due to power cut by Jindal which is the only power supplier to the industries in the region. The furnaces may get power supply for only 12 hours a day for 3-4 days due to some technical issues in the power plant, officials reported to SteelMint. There are about 40-45 furnaces in Punjipatra Industrial area with an average production of about 4,000-5,000 t of ingots/billets per day. Power cut issue may result in hike in billet prices.
