India: Producers raise pig iron offers on rallying coke prices

Due to the rally in coke prices, private pig iron producers in eastern India are raising prices after suspending sales for the last two-three days. SteelMint’s steel grade pig iron price assessment for Durgapur rose today by INR 1,000/t to INR 40,000/t, while foundry grade pig iron offers rose by INR 1,300-1,500/t to INR 42,300-42,500/t exw. Plants may hike prices further on slight supply crunch in the market.

Foundry grade pig iron prices increased by INR 400/t today and currently offers for second sale (through traders) stand at INR 45,000/t for Ludhiana and Delhi, on a delivered basis (including local freight costs).
