An official from Kharagpur, Eastern India based plant has reported sponge P-DRI (FeM 78-79%) offers for Raipur, Central India at INR 26,500-600/t FoR Raipur, whereas local sponge manufacturers in Raipur have floated offers at INR 26,800-27,000/t exw, for FeM 80%. Yesterday, the plants located in Raipur & outside, sold over 3,000 t P-DRI at INR 27,000/t on exw & FoR basis. “Weak demand in the local market has forced us to deal with outside state based buyers”, a few major plants from West Bengal said.
