Hoa Phat Group -a leading steelmaker in Vietnam, has recorded total steel sales at 439,000 t in Feb ’21, lower by 24% m-o-m. Out of the total steel sales, construction steel stood at 189,000 t, HRC at 175,000 t, and billet at 75,000 t. Steel consumption in Feb decreased due to the prolonged Lunar New Year holiday that fell for the whole month and the rise in COVID-19 cases in the country. The company expects strong sales in Mar as the demand for steel will increase with the ramp-up in construction activities.
