Chinese billet and slab imports witness sharp rise during Jan-Apr’20

During Jan-Apr’20, China billet imports stood at 1.07 mnt (up, 1448.9% Y-o-Y) at an average price of $407/t(up 13.3% Y-o-Y), mainly from Iran, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc. While, slab imports in the country stood at 995,000t (up 5341.5% Y-o-Y) at an average price of $396/t (down 5.1% Y-o-Y) mainly from Vietnam, UAE, Russia, etc.
