Taiwan iron ore imports for the month of Oct’18 recorded at 2.6 MnT, up 31% as against 1.98 MnT in Sep’18. On yearly premises, the imports in Oct’18 recorded rise of 94% as against imports in Oct’17 at 1.34 MnT.
The country has depicted fall of 3% in imports for the duration Jan-Oct’18 at 20.09 MnT as compared to Jan- Oct’17 at 20.77 MnT.
The Non-agglomerated ore (Lump and Fines) imports witnessed 25% rise in Oct’18 imports to 2.24 MnT as against 1.79 MnT in last month. The Y-o-Y imports in Oct’18 recorded more than two folds increase as against 1.07 MnT in Oct’17.
Agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) imports in Oct’18 depicted rise to two folds on monthly basis at 0.36 MnT as against 0.18 MnT in Sep’18. However, the Y-o-Y change depicted 33% increase as against 0.27 MnT in Oct’17.
Australian iron ore exports to Taiwan up 40% M-o-M
Australia continues to be the largest exporter of iron ore to Taiwan in Oct’18 at 1.84 MnT (up 40% M-o-M) accounting for 71% of total Taiwan’s imports share for the month. Brazil stood second largest exporter at 0.56 MnT (up 51% M-o-M) followed by Canada 0.14 MnT (down 53% on monthly basis).
