World Pig Iron Output Witnessed a Sharp Increase in June 

In FY 14, the global Pig Iron production amounted to 96 MnT in the month of June, thereby, incorporating an increase of 3.6% on Y-O-Y basis.

On the other hand, production witnessed a decrease of 4% during June on M-O-M basis, according to data released by the World Steel Association.

Total Pig Iron production in Asia was 73.8 Mnt for the month of June with an increase of 4.7%. China had a production of 58.3 MnT with an increase of 4.7%, followed by Japan with 6.8 Mnt production, up by 9% and India with a production of 4.1 Mnt had an increase of 14.8%, on Y-O-Y basis.

Meanwhile in June, EU countries produced 7.8 MnT of Pig iron, while CIS accounted a production of 6.6 MnT of Pig Iron, witnessed a decrease of 0.3% and 1.6% which indicates EU and CIS countries respectively, on Y-O-Y basis.

Meanwhile, in Jan-June'13, world Pig Iron production amounted to 583.6 MnT, thus had an increase of 4% as compared to the first six months of 2012.
