World crude steel production falls over 5%, y-o-y, in Mar’22

Crude steel output of 64 countries tracked by World Steel Association (WSA) was down by 5.8% y-o-y to 161 mnt in Mar’22. However, production rose 13% against 142.7 mnt in Feb’22.

• China produced 88.3 mnt, down 6.4% y-o-y.
• India produced 10.9 mnt, up 4.4% y-o-y.
• Japan’s production stood at 8 mnt, a decline of 4.3% y-o-y.
