World crude steel production edges up by 0.5% y-o-y in Jun’24: WSA

The World Steel Association (WSA) reported that crude steel production for the 71 countries has edged up by 0.5% y-o-y to 161.4 mnt in Jun’24. However, production volumes dipped by 2% m-o-m against 165.1 mnt in May’24.

• China’s output inched up by 0.2% y-o-y to 91.6 mnt.
• India’s production rose by 6% y-o-y to 12.3 mnt.
• Japan’s production decreased by 4.2% y-o-y to 7 mnt.
