World crude steel production declines y-o-y in Sep’24: WSA

The World Steel Association (WSA) has revealed that crude steel production of the 71 countries that report to it declined by 4.7% y-o-y to 143.6 mnt in Sep’24. Additionally, production volumes edged down by 1% m-o-m against 144.8 mnt in Aug’24.

• China’s output declined by 6.1% y-o-y to 77.1 mnt.
• India’s production inched down by 0.2% y-o-y to 11.7 mnt.
• Japan’s production dropped by 5.8% y-o-y to 6.6 mnt.
