World Crude Steel Output Rise by 4% in Jan-Apr’18

According to the recent data released by World Steel Association (WSA), the total crude steel production of 66 steel manufacturing countries grew by 4% during first four months of (Jan-Apr)’18 to 573.66 MnT against 550.74 MnT in similiar time frame of previous year.

However on monthly basis it remain largely stable at 148.32 MnT in Apr’18 in comparison to 148.42 MnT in Mar’18.

On yearly basis the same increased by 4.2% against 142.21 MnT in Apr’17.

SteelMint has analyzed world’s crude steel production numbers of major steel producing countries –

China’s crude steel output rises by 4% M-o-M in Apr’18-Nation’s crude steel output rose by 4% in Apr’18 and stood at 76.69 MnT against 73.98 MnT in Mar’18.However during Jan- Apr ‘18 the same moved up by 5.7% to 288.97 MnT against 273.22 MnT in Jan-Apr’17.

India’s crude steel output decline by 6%M-o-M in Apr’18– India’s crude steel output stood at 8.69 MnT,down by 6% in Apr’18 against 9.22 MnT in Mar’18.During Jan – Apr’18 the same moved up 4% to 35.38 MnT against 33.96 MnT in Jan-Apr’18.

Japan’s crude steel output drop by 4% M-o-M in Apr’18 -Nation’s crude steel output fell by 4% to 8.72 MnT in Apr’18 against 9.08 MnT in Mar’18.However during Jan-Apr’18 the same remain stable at 35.13 MnT in Jan-Apr’18 against 34.98 MnT in Jan-Apr’17.

United States Crude steel Output down by 5% M-o-M in Apr’18-Nation’s crude steel output stood at 6.93 MnT in Apr’18,down by 5.4% on monthly basis against 7.33 MnT in Mar’18.However during Jan-Apr’18 the same up by 3% to 27.75 MnT which was 26.98 MnT in similiar time frame of previous year.

South Korea crude steel output fell by 3% M-o-M in Apr’18-South Korea’s crude steel production was recorded at 5.89 MnT in Apr’18 down by 3% against 6.09 MnT in Mar’18.However during Jan-Apr’18 the same moved up 4% to 23.69 MnT which was 22.82 MnT in Jan-Apr’17.

Crude steel production of other top steel producing countries in month of Apr’18 is as follows Russia: 6.03 MnT Brazil: 2.94 MnT ,Turkey 2.95 MnT and Germany at 3.77 MnT.
