According to the recent provisional data released by World Steel Association (WSA),the total crude steel production of 67 steel manufacturing countries witnessed the hike of 7% ,Y-o-Y basis to 143.2 MnT in Jul’17 against 133.9 MnT recorded in Jul’16.
World crude steel production on monthly basis is registered marginal rise of 2%, M-o-M basis in Jul’17 against 141.05 MnT in Jun’17.

China’s crude steel hits highest ever in Jul’17 – China’s crude steel output has recorded increase of 10.2% ,Y-o-Y to 74 MnT in Jul’17 against 67.13. MnT Jul’16. On monthly basis,China’s crude steel production registered the minute rise of 1.05% in Jul’17 as compared to 73.23 MnT in Jun’17.
Japan crude steel production decline by 4.2%,Y-o-Y in Jul’17 – In Jul’17 nation’s crude steel declined by 4.2%,Y-o-Y basis to 8.6 MnT against 8.98 MnT in Jul’16. However on M-o-M basis,Japan’s crude steel production rose by 2% compared to 8.4 MnT in Jun’17.
India’s crude steel output drop down 3% in Jun’17 – According to data released by World Steel Association, India’s crude steel output stood at 8.4 MnT,down by 4% in Jul’17 against 8.08 MnT in Jul’16. However on monthly basis India’s crude steel output rose by 6% in Jul’17 in comparison with 8.12 MnT in Jun’17.
South Korea crude steel output Increases 3%,Y-o-Y basis in Jul’17-South Korea’s crude steel production was recorded at 6.2 MnT up by 3%,Y-o-Y basis in Jul’17 against MnT in Jul’16.On monthly basis,South Korea crude steel output rise by 5% MnT in Jul’17 against 5.91 MnT in Jun’17.
However,crude steel production of other top steel producing countries in Jul’17 are as follows United States: 7.1 MnT, Russia: 5.6 MnT and Brazil: 2.8 MnT.
