World crude steel output falls 5% y-o-y during Jan-May’20

World’s crude steel output has come down by 5% y-o-y to 728.7 mn t during Jan-May’20, according to data released by WSA.The production cuts faced by the steel-producing nations amid the pandemic has led to a 9% y-o-y decline in the world crude steel output to 148.78 mn t in May’20 compared to 163 mn t in May’19.
