World crude steel output edges down by 1% y-o-y in Feb’23: WSA

Crude steel output of 63 countries tracked by the World Steel Association (WSA) edged down by 1% y-o-y to 142.4 mnt in Feb’23. In addition, output fell by 2% m-o-m as against 145.3 mnt in Jan’23.

• China’s output increased by 5.6% to 80.1 mnt.
• India’s production inched down by 1.0% to 10.0 mnt.
• Japan’s output fell by 5.3% to 6.9 mnt.
