A Gujarat based major steelmaker has booked around 10,000-15,000 t of imported scrap in this week, sources have reported to SteelMint. The cargo comprises of HMS 1 scrap of UAE and South Africa origin and the deal price is heard at $305-310/t CFR level. Imported scrap prices in India have increased by $5-8/t w-o-w on active restocking ahead of winter holidays and expected price hike on lower scrap generation in countries like UK etc.
