Weekly round-up: Indian ferro alloys prices shows mixed trends amid costs and demand shifts

Ferro chrome prices ease on tepid downstream demand

Indian high-carbon ferro chrome (HC 60%, Si 4%) prices dipped slightly by INR 900/t ($10/t) to INR 117,800/t ($1,243/t) exw Jajpur. Prices fell as the majority of key buyers were not in the market which prompted sellers to lower their offers.

Imported manganese ore prices increase w-o-w

Imported manganese ore prices increased w-o-w. Mn44% Gabon prices stood at $5.74/dmtu, up by $0.21/dmtu. Mn46% Australia at $6.14/dmtu, up by $0.22/dmtu and Mn37% South Africa stood at $5.31/dmtu, up by $0.25/dmtu w-o-w.

Silico manganese prices continue to rise on higher ore costs

Indian silico manganese (60-14) prices went up by INR 1,000/t ($11/t) w-o-w to INR 74,600 -75,500/t ($787-797/t ) across Durgapur, Raipur, Vizag, and Raigarh, driven by a sharp surge in imported manganese ore prices and persistent supply tightness in the global market.

Meanwhile, HC 65-16 silico manganese prices rose by $9/t to $931/t FOB Vizag/Haldia.

Ferro manganese prices increase w-o-w

Indian ferro manganese (70%) prices rose w-o-w by INR 2,200/t ($23/t) to INR 76,700/t ($809/t) in Raipur while, went up by INR 1,500/t ($16/t) to INR 76,000/t ($802/t) in Durgapur. Prices increased as sellers were unwilling to offer material at lower rates amid rising production costs.

Meanwhile, export prices for 75 grade saw a sharp increase by $22/t w-o-w to $940/t FOB Vizag/Haldia.

Ferro silicon prices strengthen, further upside likely

Indian ferro silicon (Si 70%) prices were mostly stable with slight rise by INR 3,000/t ($32/t) w-o-w to INR 103,000/t ($1,087/t) exw Guwahati, while Bhutan prices also edged up by INR 3,400/t ($36/t) at INR 103,400/t ($1,091/t).  Prices were stable due to limited transactions last week, as the majority of sellers were sold out or supplying to previously booked orders.

Noble alloys prices reflect mixed trends w-o-w

Indian ferro molybdenum prices mostly steady with slight uptick by INR 34,000/t ($359/t) w-o-w to INR 3,534,000/t ($37,284/t) exw. Prices increased amid sellers in India kept prices largely stable as molybdenum oxide shipments were getting delayed amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.

On 25 March 2026, Indian ferro vanadium prices have remained unchanged at INR 1,331,500/t ($14,167/t) ex-works Raipur. The domestic ferro vanadium market continues to exhibit stability, supported by a combination of restricted supply and measured procurement from end-users.

Indian ferro titanium (Ti: 70%, 10–50 mm) prices held steady w-o-w at INR 330,000/t exw, with offers up to INR 340,000/t and potential upside due to higher imported raw material costs.

IEX spot prices decrease w-o-w

Electricity prices on IEX averaged INR 3.38/unit during 22-28 March 2026, up from INR 4.44/unit in the previous week.
