Ferro chrome prices hit 3-month high post recent auction results

Domestic high-carbon ferro chrome (60%, Si: 4%) prices increased by INR 7,400/t ($81/t) w-o-w to INR 120,000/t ($1,306/t) exw-Jajpur. Prices surged following higher bids at recent auctions of OMC and Vedanta-FACOR. Prices have risen to a three-month highs to levels last seen in end October’25.

At Vedanta-FACORs auction on 28 January, higher premiums were achieved reflecting aggressive buyer participation. The larger lot (Cr: 56% min, 10-150 mm) achieved an H1 price of INR 121,500/t ($1,321/t) exw, up INR 7,500/t ($82/t) from base price, while the smaller lot closed at INR 121,700/t ($1,323/t) exw, higher by INR 7,200/t ($78/t) than the base price.

Imported manganese ore prices reach 11-month high

Imported manganese ore prices near 11-month high and climbed up w-o-w. Mn44% Gabon prices increased to $5.20/dmtu, up by $0.03/dmtu, Mn46% Australia to $5.56/dmtu, up by $0.03/dmtu. Meanwhile, Mn37% South Africa rose to $4.54/dmtu w-o-w, up by $0.07/dmtu.

Silico manganese prices near to 7-month high on healthy trades

Indian silico manganese (60-14) prices near to 7-month high and inched up by INR 350/t ($4/t) w-o-w to INR 72,200- 73,100/t ($787-796/t) across Durgapur, Raipur, Vizag and Raigarh. Prices continued to move up, driven by strong booking activity at higher levels by smelters. Elevated spot deal prices have provided solid support to the market.

However, HC 65-16 silico manganese prices decreased by $11/t to $910/t FOB Vizag/Haldia.

Ferro manganese prices stays mostly steady w-o-w

Indian ferro manganese (70%) prices edged down by INR 200/t ($2/t) w-o-w to INR 72,300/t ($789/t) in Durgapur and went slightly up by INR 100/t ($1/t) to INR 72,600/t ($791/t) in Raipur. Prices stayed steady due to limited market activity, with low trading volumes, cautious buyer participation, and absence of major spot deals influencing sentiment.

Export prices for 75 grade decreased by $10/t w-o-w to $900/t FOB Vizag/Haldia.

Ferro silicon prices remain largely stable w-o-w

Indian ferro silicon (Si 70%) prices remained largely stable with slight corrections w-o-w at INR 93,600/t ($1,020/t) exw-Guwahati, down by INR 200/t ($2/t).However, Bhutan prices reamined altered at INR 93,700/t ($1,021/t) exw. Due to the month-end, trades were limited, as most sellers were out of stock, and the market mostly operated at earlier prevailing prices.

Noble alloys prices reflect mixed market movements

Indian ferro vanadium 50% prices remained unchanged w-o-w to INR 1,152,000/t ex-Raipur , primarily due to limited price fluctuations in the raw material market and steady demand from the steel industry.

Indian ferro titanium prices (Ti 70%, 10-50 mm) inched up by INR 5,000/t ($54/t) w-o-w to INR 305,000/t ($3,317/t) exw. The market remained largely stable, supported by balanced supply and demand conditions. Sentiment was further supported by firm global market cues, with no major shifts observed in overall market dynamics.

Indian ferro molybdenum prices inched up by INR 18,000/t ($196/t) w-o-w to INR 2,993,000/t ($32,570/t) exw, supported by steady domestic demand, stable supply conditions, and firm LME futures.

IEX spot prices dip w-o-w

Electricity prices on IEX averaged INR 2.9/unit during 25-31 January 2026, down from INR 4.08/unit in the previous week.
