Ferro chrome prices dip on cautious purchases
Indian high-carbon ferro chrome (HC 60%, Si 4%) prices dipped slightly by INR 1,700/t ($18/t) to INR 119,800/t ($1,294/t) exw Jajpur. Prices declined slightly due to limited buyer inquiries and cautious procurement activity in the domestic market.
Additionally, Vedanta-Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd (FACOR) has scheduled an auction for high-carbon (HC) ferro chrome (Cr: 52.5-57% min, 10-150 mm) on 16 Mar’26.
Imported manganese ore prices reflects mixed trends w-o-w
Imported manganese ore prices showed ambiguity w-o-w. Mn44% Gabon prices stood at $5.47/dmtu, down by $0.01/dmtu. Mn46% Australia at $5.85/dmtu, down by $0.01/dmtu and Mn37% South Africa stood at $4.93/dmtu, up by $0.4/dmtu w-o-w.
Silico manganese prices continue to swing up on rising ore costs
Indian silico manganese (60-14) prices went up slightly INR 325/t ($4/t) w-o-w to INR 73,000 -74,300/t ($788-802/t ) across Durgapur, Raipur, Vizag, and Raigarh, supported by higher overseas raw material prices. Smelters raised offers as rising imported and domestic manganese ore prices lifted production costs, while firmer steel prices supported domestic silico manganese despite cautious export demand.
Meanwhile, HC 65-16 silico manganese prices inched up by $3/t to $918/t FOB Vizag/Haldia.
Ferro manganese prices maintain stability w-o-w
Indian ferro manganese (70%) prices maintained stability with prices staying unchanged w-o-w to INR 74,200/t ($801/t) in Raipur while, went up by INR 300/t ($3/t) to INR 74,100/t ($800/t) in Durgapur. Stable ferro manganese prices reflected balanced demand from alloy buyers and adequate domestic supply, preventing significant price movement during the week.
Meanwhile, export prices for 75 grade edged up by $5/t w-o-w to $914/t FOB Vizag/Haldia.
Ferro silicon prices remain mostly stable w-o-w
Indian ferro silicon (Si 70%) prices were mostly stable with slight drop by INR 1,000/t ($11/t) w-o-w to INR 100,000/t ($1,080/t) exw Guwahati, while Bhutan prices remained unchanged at INR 100,000/t ($1,080/t). Subsequently, sellers in both Indian and Bhutanese markets aligned their offers around the same level, leading to price stability across regions.
Additionally, SAIL booked 15,150 t ferro silicon lumps at INR 107,800/t FOR in a 6 Mar’26 reverse auction, with delivery scheduled within four months.
Noble alloys prices rise w-o-w
Indian ferro molybdenum prices increased by INR 14,000/t ($151/t) w-o-w to INR 3,528,000/t ($38,102/t) exw. Prices increased amid tight molybdenum concentrate supply, which raised production costs and encouraged producers to maintain firm offers in the domestic market.
Indian ferro vanadium (FeV 50%) prices rose INR 4,000/t ($43/t) w-o-w to INR 1,300,000/t ($14,040/t) exw-Raipur on 11 Mar’26, supported by tight raw material availability and firm global sentiment, with producers resisting discounts.
Indian ferro titanium (Ti 70%, 10–50 mm) prices rose INR 13,000/t ($140/t) w-o-w to INR 330,000/t ($3,564/t) exw- India, supported by strong costs and improving seasonal demand. Global price gains prompted Indian sellers to lift offers, though buying remained cautious, with limited deals reported around INR 320,000/t ($3,456/t).
IEX spot prices increase w-o-w
Electricity prices on IEX averaged INR 5.33/unit during 08-14March 2026, up from INR 3.39 /unit in the previous week.
