Ferro chrome prices ease post conclusion of auction
Indian high-carbon ferro chrome (HC 60%, Si 4%) prices dipped slightly by INR 500/t ($5/t) to INR 121,500/t ($1,322/t) exw Jajpur. The slight drop followed lower bids at Vedanta-FACOR’s ferro chrome auction, and buying inquiries were also limited last week.
At Vedanta-FACOR’s ferro chrome auction 27 Feb’26, the larger lot (Cr: 57% min, 10-150 mm) achieved an H1 price of INR 120,200/t ($1,307/t) exw, up slightly by INR 200/t ($2/t) from the base price.
Imported manganese ore prices increase w-o-w
Imported manganese ore prices increased w-o-w. Mn44% Gabon prices stood at $5.48/dmtu, up by $0.22/dmtu. Mn46% Australia at $5.86/dmtu, up by $0.23/dmtu and Mn37% South Africa stood at $4.89/dmtu, up by $0.2/dmtu w-o-w.
Silico manganese prices increase w-o-w on rising raw material prices
Indian silico manganese (60-14) prices went up slightly INR 400/t ($4/t) w-o-w to INR 72,700 -73,800/t ($791-803/t ) across Durgapur, Raipur, Vizag, and Raigarh, supported by higher overseas raw material prices. Sellers showed limited willingness to negotiate, as domestic manganese ore prices from MOIL Limited have also increased slightly raising smelter production costs.
However, HC 65-16 silico manganese prices inched down by $1/t to $915/t FOB Vizag/Haldia.
Ferro manganese prices remain mostly steady w-o-w
Indian ferro manganese (70%) prices maintained stability with slight rise by INR 200/t w-o-w to INR 74,200/t ($809/t) in Raipur and INR 100/t ($1/t) to INR 73,800/t ($804/t) in Durgapur. Prices edged up as producers raised offers and resisted lower bids, supported by steady demand and balanced market conditions.
Meanwhile, export prices for 75 grade edged up by $3/t w-o-w to $909/t FOB Vizag/Haldia.
Ferro silicon prices rise post Bhutan’s announcement for Mar’26 deliveries
Indian ferro silicon (Si 70%) prices rose by INR 2,200/t ($24/t) w-o-w to INR 101,000/t ($1,001/t) exw Guwahati, while Bhutan prices increased by INR 1,000/t ($11/t) to INR 100,000/t ($1,090/t). The rise followed Bhutan’s March price announcement of INR 100,000/t ($1,090/t), alongside higher electricity tariffs that are expected to lift production costs. Prices reached nearly a one-year high in both markets.
Noble alloys prices increase w-o-w
Indian ferro molybdenum prices increased by INR 64,000/t ($698/t) w-o-w to INR 3,514,000/t ($38,303/t) exw. Prices picked up gradually during the week, supported by a slight rise in LME futures. However, market inquiries remained limited and moderate amid festival holidays.
Indian ferro vanadium (FeV 50%) prices increased by INR 72,000/t ($783/t) w-o-w to INR 1,296,000/t ($14,100/t) exw Raipur on 3 Mar 2026, supported by higher raw material costs, tight vanadium pentoxide supply, and strong downstream demand.
Indian ferro titanium (Ti 70%, 10-50 mm) prices rose by INR 7,000/t ($76/t) w-o-w to INR 317,000/t ($3,459/t) ex-works on 5 March 2026. The increase followed strength in the global market, with domestic sellers raising offers to INR 330,000-340,000/t ($3,601-3,710/t) exw. However, buying interest remained cautious, and no deals were reported during the week.
IEX spot prices decrease w-o-w
Electricity prices on IEX averaged INR 3.39/unit during 01-07March 2026, down from INR 4.13 /unit in the previous week.
